What:
Catalyst, matchmaker, innovator...To do the right things with the right people, we have identified three roles critical to our business success – catalyst, matchmaker and innovator. These are the things we have done, and will continue to do, best. Client, vendor, partner...As catalyst, matchmaker and innovator, JFS Consulting performs significant value-adding at the interface between two parties involved in a value exchange. Most often for us, this exchange is defined along a technology dimension with our clients as consumers of our recommended vendors' products and/or services. All relevant vendor and client relationships are fully disclosed when we mediate such exchanges, especially if we benefit from the exchange.
When we add the all-important co-dimension of trust and respect, (one without the other does not cut it), we define two additional role relationships; business partner and R&D partner. We strive for "win-win" exchanges between our clients and vendors. What we value most are maturing relationships built on a track record of performance, trust and respect. These relationships have the potential to become true, long-term partnerships. Tech writing servicesJim is an expert in computer and software technologies. Timlynn is a gifted educator, mentor, organizer and manager. We both love to write. We are especially skilled at 'soup to nuts' outsourced contract projects where we are responsible for final deliverables in print, multimedia and/or Internet-based Web formats (HTML and XML). We've even developed an Internet-based project methodology that we use on remote contract tech writing projects. Extreme Tech Writing – our project method applying best practices from our software development experience – will be featured soon in a Customer Success Story at a major Internet project management services provider.
Crisp Copy servicesJFS Consulting Crisp Copy services include writing, editing, proofreading, indexing, abstracting, and background research. We also offer industry-standard page layout and desk top publishing services to provide our clients with camera ready copy for commercial printing or electronic publication. In initial conversations, we will discuss the level of service most appropriate for your project based on the condition of the text, your budget, and schedule. Because each project is unique, costs will vary from project to project. However, general guidelines apply. Click here for more information. Software development servicesOur hands-on software development work these days is mostly done under various Open Source business models and licenses. We're most actively pursuing our software research interests at Sohodojo. Our support of Open Source does not mean, however, that we are anarchists insisting that 'All software must be free and owned by noone and everyone!' We believe in, and work within, a heterogeneous world of software technologies. Open source software strategy servicesOpen Source software is especially useful for creating glue (open APIs) and reference platforms (extensible frameworks) in support of the increasingly 'multi-cultural' systems which implement today's web of business relations. We work with Internet application service providers, software developers and others to identify and implement business-enhancing Open Source technology strategies. Entrepreneurial social action'Ruthlessly simple' goes right along with 'ruthlessly small'. We are not interested in bell and whistle Internet technologies. There are already way too many bells and whistles on the Web. We do low tech, low cost web sites for small businesses and grassroot social action client/partners. Through our involvement in the Communities of the Future Network, we are constantly exploring, working with and developing Open Source community collaboration technologies.
